At the IR session to introduce startups and promising innovative companies in the "Yold Innovation Forum 2021" held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul on the 9th, Jeong Kwang-wook, CEO of Mantel, an elderly-friendly smart exercise machine and rehabilitation treatment device developer for independent living, drew attention.
Dream Bicycle is a device that connects to Google and helps you ride a bicycle and rehabilitate on the same virtual road as the actual road. At the same time as muscle exercise, cognitive training can also be expected to delay dementia.
It is also evaluated that dream building is optimized for digital tourism in this COVID-19 environment, which is restricted from external activities such as travel. If you choose a destination you want to go, you can fly the road on the screen and drive like an actual street. It is possible to check the driving direction adjustment, driving time, driving speed, etc. on the real-time screen, and to set individual matching levels and remotely control them.
Dream Bicycle has been approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and is actually used by dementia relief centers such as Yongsan-gu, Seongbuk-gu, Seodaemun-gu, and Seocheon-gun, Asan Senior Welfare Center, Seongnam Wirye Social Welfare Center, Yeongdong, Sangju, Uiseong, and Yeongwol. Not only in Korea, but also in Hong Kong, Japan, and Iraq, dream bicycles have been introduced to improve senior muscle strength and cognitive abilities, prevent dementia, and maintain health.
Mantel also introduced upper limb rehabilitation robots used by the National Rehabilitation Center, Chungnam National University Hospital, Dongguk University Hospital, Target Rehabilitation Hospital, and Gyeongbuk Regional Rehabilitation Hospital. The upper extremity rehabilitation robot also supports multi-purpose training such as horizontal, inclined, and vertical surfaces and training through games, and was selected as a supply project by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in 2017.
Manentel, which develops, manufactures, and sells rehabilitation medical devices and technical education equipment, was established in August 2000, and exports education and research equipment to 52 countries. In addition, it is recognized for its technological and product competitiveness by exporting medical devices such as rehabilitation robot devices, medical assistance devices, and smart exercise devices exclusively for the elderly to 17 countries.
The "Yold Innovation Forum 2021" is hosted by the Korea Health Industry Promotion Agency and Maekyung Media Group and sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
